On the onset, this Seiko timepiece looks ordinary, but this watch is far from that. This Seiko Crown Chronograph 5719-8980 that we have on sale today contains Seiko's first chronograph movement. It was created to commemorate the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, where Seiko was the designated official timekeeper for the event.
This watch houses a hand-wound Cal. 5719 movement that's unique in its own right. What's so special about this particular movement is that only one button is needed to start, stop and reset the chronograph. Also known as a 'monopusher', this makes the chronograph feature on the watch exceptionally easy to use.
Featuring a classic design that has stood the test of time, the Seiko Crown Chronograph 5719-8980 has a clean dial with baton hour markers with a contrasting black bezel. The watch sits comfortably on the wrist, and is at a great size for any occasion without being too loud.
Nothing short of iconic, this beautiful Seiko timepiece is one for any collector and anyone who is looking to add a historic piece to their collection.
All watches are preloved or vintage, so please expect signs of user marks, aging, and wear that commensurate with the age of the watch. For more photos and details, please contact us.
