The Seiko Sportmatic series was initially introduced as a line of entry-level automatic watch by Seiko in the 1960s. However, even though they were marketed towards beginners, they contained high-quality automatic movements, so you will certainly be getting more than what you pay for with this watch.
Up for sale today is the Seiko 5 7619-7010 Sportsmatic Deluxe, which is quite a unique and outstanding timepiece. On the first look, it has a stunning silver sunburst dial. The reflective nature of the dial makes it look amazing under all lighting conditions. The dial is minimalist, with silver baton hour markers and matching dauphine hands. The day-date window sits at the 3 o'clock position, overall giving you all the information you need at a glance. A minute track sits on the white outer ring of the dial, and this distinction makes it easy to read the time.
Perhaps the most special part of this watch is the bezel. It features an etched bezel that makes the it look like a rope that goes around the case of the watch. It is certainly a rare design that we hardly see nowadays!
This watch runs on a 7619 movement that is known to be reliable and easy to maintain.
For a watch from 1966, this is certainly a timepiece that will last through decades. With a sturdy movement and enduring style, this has a place in your collection and your wrist for years to come.
