The story of the Oris brand began in 1904, when the brand was founded by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian in the Swiss town of Hölstein. Although Oris may not be the first brand that comes to mind when you are thinking to buy a watch, they have been around for longer than Rolex and Seiko! With such a long and illustrious history, there are certainly many vintage treasures to discover with Oris.
The Oris Pointer Date, when it was first introduced in 1938, was known as one of the earliest pilot watches. What we have on sale today is the Oris Pointer Date Ref 7403 with the Oris automatic 574 movement. This watch has a unique look, and one of the standout features would be the red date hand that points to the date which is located on the periphery of the dial. It is different from the date on most watches that is located on the 3 o'clock of the dial. This contributes to the clean look and legibility of the watch, which helps it to function as a pilot's watch.
With its arrow hour markers and sword-style hands, the Oris Pointer Date exudes elegance with its simplicity. The light champagne dial contrasted with the gold hour markers makes it easy to read and a pleasure to look at. It is a beautiful piece that wears very well on the wrist with a reasonable price point.
This watch is for anyone looking to buy a special piece to stand out from the crowd from a well-reputable brand. It is an ideal accessory to dress up any outfit, and certainly one to keep in your collection.
All watches are preloved or vintage, so please expect signs of user marks, aging, and wear that commensurate with the age of the watch. For more photos and details, please contact us.
